The Government of Sindh has launched a major initiative, titled “Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Youth Development Program” for addressing the issues of poverty and unemployment through human resource development in the province.

The Program aims to provide opportunities for short-term employment and skill development to approximately 100,000 semi-literate and educated unemployed youth in Sindh for a period varying between 3 months to one year.

The unemployed youth will be offered various skill development opportunities and job-oriented certification courses to adapt local and international job markets. This will help reduce poverty and improve the socio-economic conditions of common citizens. In addition, the public and private sector business efficiency will increase through a well-placed, developed and skilled work force. In this regard Agriculture Extension Sindh has assign to train the M.Sc passed unemployed youth for Farm Management trainee in each district across the Sindh. District Jamshoro have selected 18 Farm Management trainees out of 18 only 14 were regularly attending the training in office of the District Officer Agriculture Extension Jamshoro @ Kotri.

 

The training was started from 20th October 2008. The first week of the training was orientation of the participants in DOA office by District Officer Agriculture. After that each participants were allocated the farm of big zamindars in different location across the District Jamshoro, attached is the list of farms in the district. Every Saturday is fixed for weekly progress share by the Farm Management trainee. Moreover they are submitting the weekly progress report in the DOA office and DOA discuss next week plan at his allocated farm. Beside that facilitation skill were also introduce for participants in each Saturday by the DOA during the training DOA Jamshoro personally visited the Farm Management trainees on allocated Farms across the district.


After one month Project Management unit Hyderabad provided the Honiara for participants of the Farm Management trainees, and Nursery Management. It was decided that a formally ceremony will be conducted and have invited to District Coordination Officer Jamshoro to give the cheques of Honiara to the participants. Mean while 03-12-2008 ceremony was held in the Office of the District Officer Agriculture Extension Jamshoro. However, all Dos of the Agriculture group of offices have invited to attend the ceremony.


During the ceremony District Officer Agriculture announce welcome to District Coordination Officer Jamshoro he has spent some time for the ceremony and brief the history of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Youth Development Program and contents of the training of 40 days progress of the trainees followed by the methodologies of training in Jamshoro in this ceremony.



Mr. Azam Channa Project Director of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Youth Development Program was also invited he brief all constrains facing by him during launching the program. He emphasized to participants to develop the skills during the training period.


Finally District Coordination Officer Jamshoro address to participants that Government provide you a good opportunity to enhance the skill development and will compete in open market for good job. He suggested that arrange the tour of participants in advance growers farms where former using Mechanized Farming for better yield. Mr. Narejo announces the vigilance committee of Civil Society members he had nominated to monitor the activities of Farm Management trainees in the District. The monitoring team comprises of Mr. Faqirdad Khoso and Mr. Sohail Shoro. Further, Mr. Narejo appreciated the efforts of DO Agriculture for betterment of the district.



The District Coordination Officer Mr. Ahmed Bux Narejo distributed Cheques of the Honiara among the trainees of Farm Management.
